What are you talking about? No one knew anything about Travelling in the first books. beetnemesis Send a noteboard - 07/06/2017 10:01:17 PM

All anyone knew about it, historically, was that it let you get from one place to another.

I amuse myself.

Wow... I never really realized how bloody MASSIVE the Traveling retcon was. Dunstan - 31/05/2017 06:59:07 AM 1256 Views
Can you explain the retcon to those of us a few years out from the latest reread? *NM* Ghavrel - 31/05/2017 09:27:58 AM 466 Views
Basically in the first 3 books Traveling worked completely differently then it did from the 4th on. Dunstan - 31/05/2017 04:31:59 PM 893 Views
Maybe in RJ's head, but he didn't put enough on the page to prove it. Cannoli - 01/06/2017 02:49:24 PM 1013 Views
Marvel's Nightcrawler's teleportation vs Blink's gateways Roland00 - 31/05/2017 07:04:50 PM 868 Views
The problem with that, is... Rand does it. Quite a bit actually. Dunstan - 31/05/2017 07:16:53 PM 969 Views
I really do not care but arguing for mere humor / logic sake Roland00 - 31/05/2017 08:26:10 PM 912 Views
... No, really. The difference between channeling the OP and TP is way too big to miss while in POV. Dunstan - 31/05/2017 08:39:13 PM 833 Views
But we never see a PoV character teleport from "on place" to another using Traveling Cannoli - 01/06/2017 02:38:54 PM 1052 Views
Rand does it at the end of both EotW and TDR. *NM* Dunstan - 01/06/2017 06:28:58 PM 857 Views
LTT's presence in Rand's mind makes Rand a shit standard here. Vodalus - 01/06/2017 07:52:54 PM 892 Views
"Knowledge and skill" don't really matter here. Neither help him do what can't be done at all *NM* Dunstan - 01/06/2017 07:56:19 PM 773 Views
By "here" you must mean the space between your ears. Vodalus - 01/06/2017 08:03:42 PM 856 Views
No, I mean I am talking in an OOU POV, while you are being overly defensive from an IU POV. Dunstan - 01/06/2017 08:34:29 PM 1005 Views
Whatever Roland00 - 01/06/2017 04:12:42 PM 810 Views
No, he didn't. It just says "He Traveled." There is no description of the mechanism. Cannoli - 01/06/2017 02:37:55 PM 903 Views
Meh. Anybody who played D&D way back then recognized Jordan employing the spells... Vodalus - 31/05/2017 10:22:54 PM 896 Views
Oh, add Plane Shift to that list. *NM* Vodalus - 01/06/2017 02:52:31 AM 488 Views
And anyone faster then a bullet MUST be ripping off Superman? Kinda irrelevant to the point anyway. Dunstan - 01/06/2017 06:42:04 AM 874 Views
I'm not taking a dig at Jordan for lifting from a game he played. Vodalus - 01/06/2017 08:13:31 AM 886 Views
"It tellsh me that you should try READING books, inshstead of listening to them" Cannoli - 01/06/2017 02:36:16 PM 1083 Views
So... You'd rather just go... Dunstan - 01/06/2017 07:30:27 PM 984 Views
