I grant that certain areas needed to evacuate, but evacuations have increased as building codes have decreased the risk. More people "rode out" the storms in the past and while sometimes that was ill-advised, it only strengthens my belief that social media instill mass hysteria, whether it's a conviction the world has ended due to Trump being elected or panic about extreme weather. Soon we'll be shutting down everything each time it rains.
