View original postThe radical PC we see today has become an oppressive censorship tool that is used by the liberal elitist (mostly faux intellectuals) in the media and universities to kill ant ideas that don't match their agenda. Basically identity politics has become the most powerful tool in modern American politics and the most unPC thing in the world is for white men to think they can play that game as well. If you a straight white male you are not allowed to have independent opinion on the following issues.

View original postNot allowed by who, exactly? How much power do those people who aren't allowing you to have an opinion actually have over you?

The guy at Google was fired for saying that the reason there are more male engineers is men on average are better at math. He is correct of course but that didn't stop him from being fired.

The people who are forcing this down everyone's throats are the media and the universities. Being branded a racist/sexist/homophobe has real world consequences and being a white male who doesn't agree with the agenda is all it takes to earn that label. If you are not white or a male you can say pretty much anything you like.

View original post
View original postEven issue these days is being seen through the lens of race and gender and since white males are allowed to leave the planation on those issues they are effectively being shut of the political discourse. Of course the worst thing you can do is mention that any of these things are true because then you are just a privileged white guy complaining that his right to oppress is being taken away and you

View original postGoing to have to point out here that getting flak or even boycotts because of your non-PC opinions doesn't actually prevent you from speaking your mind. And that white males are still dominant nationally in most fields you consider, with few exceptions. So probably the issue isn't so much with the white male-ness as such.

View original postLike I said before, that's not to say I don't appreciate how frustrating this must feel, and how attractive it becomes to stick it to the PC system. But how much does this really affect people at the end of the day? Does it even begin to compare to the situation of most minorities until, well, extremely recently in some places, who had to put up with the same and worse, but on top of that also real discrimination that did very much hurt their pocketbooks, their careers, their family life?

It is disingenuous to dismiss this targeted censorship as simply calling people names. The facts that the majority of whites in this country feel left out of the conversation is a major factor in the growth of the alt right. The fact that whites still dominate fields like the media is meaningless when only whites who conform are given a seat at the table. Why is Fox News so hated? It gives an alternative narrative to the one the left is peddling. The majority of whites in this country are not represented by those hand picked to agree with far left liberal ideals and the level of butt hurt over that is growing at a right the echo chamber set is ignorant to.

Does it really make sense to try and end racial conflict by just changing who is being marginalized? Statistics about which race is doing better on average are meaningless in this regard. The fact that most white people are doing OK does nothing for the many whites who are not. Telling them that their problems need to take a back seat to a more deserving group is helping things. Telling them that they can't have opinion about really is stupid beyond explanation.

View original postAnd, more relevantly to my post above, is it really more important than your job, your healthcare, your safety, your clean air?

If you care about these issues and want your opinion to carry weight then it is vital. If the opinion of the majority is controlled by the minority then all those issues are affected.

View original postSo yes fighting this sort of racist and sexist censorship is a very high priority. This will get much worse before it get better as the thought police on the left are determined to double on this technique. Look how offended everyone got the Trump correctly pointed out that the violence was two sided in Charlottesville. Only and low functioning moron would believe that people showing up at political protest carrying clubs, guns and pepper spray hold no responsibility for the violence that ensued but it appears that being low functioning morons is the only political correct response in this because nothing makes people stupid like word Nazi.

View original postI don't say that it's not justified to push back for your right to a non-PC opinion - I'm certainly annoyed enough at times about people on the left who try to shout everyone else down. Just pointing out it doesn't really make a lot of sense to rank it among your top priorities. What's that American saying again - sticks and stones can break my bones, but words will never hurt me? It's not just spoiled liberal college kids who should remember that.

In a democracy the right to be heard and have your positions given weight in the public debate is more important than any single issue. Right now we have a situation where a few people with influence well outside what they should be allowed have taken control of what can be discussed and anyone who challenges them is attacked and publicly destroyed. That is why even republicans had trouble pointing at the violence was a two sided issues in Charleston, they are not willing be branded a supporter of Nazies by simply pointing out the actual facts. If you have sponsors you have to worry about having boycotts of them by radical left wing activist who want to control the conversation by social censorship.

Stop thinking about as a "can I say this without people being mad" issues and think of more along the lines of book burning. A small and often violent group (either literally or through personal attacks) with a narrow political agenda is successfully censoring the views and positions of the majority and that is important. Why did people listen to Donald Trump? Because no one else was listening to them.

The reality is the left is stupid to think identity politics can be limited to just the people who agree with them and making it evil for others groups to use their favorite tactic is not only short sighted but at it's core it is intellectually dishonest and the most device practice in modern American politics.
