Until a friend of mine, who works for various forestry entities, was telling me about a survey of wild boars he did in the Bankhead forest. He showed up with his handgun, and the 2 other guys he was with had AR-15s. Said they're ideal for dealing with wild boars.
Before I heard that story, I'd never understood why AR-15s are legal, but, it makes sense they'd see use in this sort of environment.
