With Kylo Ren being a Skywalker descendant, we really don't need Rey to be as well, time for some new blood. Though nevertheless, Rey's parents and how they ended up leaving her does still seem like a mystery to be solved at some point.

Agreed - that seems to be the one thing everybody agrees on, that that storyline was the best.
