That's about the only thing that is NOT spoiled by viewing the original trilogy Cannoli Send a noteboard - 18/12/2017 11:51:30 PM

Seriously. I probably won't see it until it comes out on Blu-Ray anyway.

It ends with a little kid wearing a rebellion secret decoder ring looking up at the stars, and a broom in his hand rotating to look like he's holding a lightsaber. The Force apparently is Awakening in him, but they forgot to mention that in the last movie.

But if you're seriously talking plot stuff, the First Order has the Resistance cornered in a completely original location that is not at all a rip off of Hoth, as the good guys hunker in trenches to fight the Imperial Walkers, while all the people with names that are not Threepio or Leia, fly speeder vehicles ineffectually at the walkers. Then Luke shows up in the HQ, has a tender moment with Leia, than walks out to confront the Imperials. Kylo Ren lands to take him on one-on-one, flails about ineffectually trying to hit Luke while Luke talks Jedi stuff to him, realizes he's run out of Original Trilogy lines to reuse, so he re-uses one of his own lines from earlier in the film, and while he's creating this distraction, the Resistance escapes through a tunnel in the back. But they are blocked by a rock slide, and Rey is on the other side, and when Luke retorts to Ren that he is not the Last Jedi, Rey moves the rocks with the Force to let the entire Resistance army escape and climb aboard the Millenium Falcon. Then Luke is discovered to not really be there when Ren finally tags him with his lightsaber and it passes harmlessly through Luke. We see Luke on his island, and then he does the empty robe thing. Leia & Rey talk to confirm for the audience that Luke's death was not sad, and she finally meets Poe Dameron. Finn has an acceptably non-white girlfriend, so we don't have to worry about our grandchildren having to watch a Star Wars trilogy about Rey's mulatto offspring.

Also, FYI, FWIW, Rey is not the kid of anyone from a previous movie, and Snoke is not a previously mentioned or -seen villain. They're just Snoke and Rey.
