How do you capture "lightning in a bottle?" Roland00 Send a noteboard - 26/06/2018 07:50:37 PM

You had a moment, you remember it, it is stored in your visual system.

But you can't explain your visual system in words, you just can't. Blah, blah, blah many philosophers have pointed it out even the easiest concepts to describe such as color that you see with your eyes such as Red when you say the word out-loud it is changed by the saying the aural / word out loud compared to how you captured it in your mind.

Now much of life does not need precision, but what happens when a specific shade of color matters? The red of Netflix is not any red, it is purposefully designed to create a specific feeling, a specific emotion inside of you and it does so with all people. (But some people more than others such as people with Synesthesia.) You may not be aware of it, but your body notices it, that the red of Netflix is trying to trigger specific mood and feelings inside of you. To be warm, intense, yet relaxing.

So mankind creates language that tries to capture this precision, and sometimes this language is helpful and sometimes it obscures and confuses. The map is not the territory and the territory is not the map.

So Mookie how do you capture lightning in a bottle? Perhaps a better idiom would be say "flash in the pan" sometimes when you use a flintlock rifle and you strike the flint the gun fires, other times nothing happens, and other times sparks happen but no result. It is truly a spasmodic effort is it not?

Here let me sum this up another way for you Mookie
