I have, as I said, no problem with employers offering these benefits (so long as they are not shorting out other employees to be generous to the breeders). My issues is with it being a subject of public policy, especially at the federal level. Employment is a private contract between employee and employer.

As for the idea that family leave helps the declining birth rate, that's band aids on tumors. You want to change that, drive the wombs out of the workplace altogether, rather than subsidize the one-or-two-child families, that muffle biological clocks while still allowing the parents to enjoy materialism, while barely, if at all, replacing themselves.
