My Russian mother severely disapproved of them and I was never allowed to read them. And by the time I could read them, I didn't even know where to begin.

Well by the time I could actually watch tv alone without her in the house (by then she became a single parent and I was old enough to watch myself and my younger siblings) ...
Well by then the Simpsons had already started to hit their decline with the Who Shot Mr. Burns and similar episodes of that season. Yet some of the Golden Age episodes of The Simpsons were still airing with reruns.
Thus I know of a thing, but simultaneously do not know much, and I missed that boat.
We have had nothing but serious threads for a while. Let's lighten it up a little.
