View original postthen we should mention criminally stupid Governor Andrew Cuomo who ordered hospitals to free up beds by sending elderly COVID patients to nursing homes in the early days of the outbreak. This only led to thousands of nursing home deaths and NJ followed his lead. I believe between 5 and 6 thousand was the total death count.

We've had plenty of them in Belgium (which also has very high per capita numbers of deaths, more than almost any other country though still less than the states of NY and NJ) without anything like that. And if the government, whether here or in the US, had just let things run their course, there would've been far more still.
