It’s such bullshit. As if the executive producers of these shows are donating all their profits to charity. They aren’t. It’s much like that colossal hypocrite John Lennon, with a net worth of approximately 200 million in the 1960s, singing imagine no possessions. When people I know express their admiration for that song, I almost invariably say, “what’s really cool is that he donated every dime he made from royalties to charities addressing income inequality.”

I refuse to watch Squid Game. I also declined to watch Parasite. Not a bit interested.
So I don’t bother with Billions, nor HBO’s Succession. Not interested in billionaires producing shows attacking the system that made them so rich. H.L. Mencken once said something like no one ever went broke by underestimating the intelligence of the American public. Still true.
