Ivermectin is very well-established as heartworm medicine for dogs. Any research on that being retracted?
Of course Ivermectin is a medicine, but a virus is different than a parasite and we have not established the Method of Action, so the real world empirics matters until we figure out how it may work, or it may not work at all.
