Ray Donovan is a Los Angeles fixer who was born and raised in South Boston. Season 1 begins with his father, a low level criminal, being released after serving 20 years in prison. All the Donovans are criminals to some extent and the series is about their lives with frequent flashbacks.

Difficult to summarize without writing an enormous post, but absolutely in my top5 favorite series.
