I'm not going to watch it unless I start hearing that it's wonderful from geeks I know rather than professional reviewers I don't trust.

Thanks for the comments. I'll probably just stew over this project forever and never go anywhere. On the other hand, the fact that it probably works better as a series of short stories lowers the barrier to entry: Just write a single short story to start with, right?
