Unless Prigozhin is spotted at some point in the future, a possibility hard to rule out entirely, there will always be doubts, even if his death is confirmed by the Kremlin. That said, I believe he died on the plane. Tom’s claim that the revolt was orchestrated surprised me, mostly because it didn’t take into account the reputational damage inflicted upon Putin. That just doesn’t seem like a Putin-esque plan. And the more I thought about it, the idea everything is orchestrated, the more I came to see it as a political tool, one used to pass off missteps, fuckups, and policy changes/reversals as part of some master plan unfathomable to lesser minds. It’s kind of psy-opsy, with the benefit of instilling doubts and self-doubt into those who might oppose him, whether citizens or underlings. Anyway, that’s my take.
