I could point out several flaws in that, not least of which being that Werewolf is an alternate version and name for Mafia, as is Assassin, both with theme elements of their own. More importantly, werewolf is basically the original cult killer leader role. Additionally, I can't see how other people don't reach that same conclusion, unless they are being eyes wide shut, I didn't say he was, I said it was a strong possibility, when his follow up was 'I got multiple deep wounds' claw marks come to mind, there are many an intelligent beastman, some good, some bad, just as there are many undead, but if I see two holes in someone's neck I will not overlook vampire and assume it's a skeleteon with a thing for stabbing people with a pair of toothpicks.
Regardless, let me ease things. For various reasons not necessarily related to my role and setting, I have good reason to believe this game includes a recruitment aspect. I do not know the details, I do not even know for sure if it is in play, but a lack of corpses in a game of 16 makes me think, 'hmm... maybe they didn't die because they've gone darksider?'
Also, and this is newer since seeing Napoleon's claim, for similiar reason I do not think ranagrande views the doc as a role able to protect himself, we discussed certain things like that during our wild goose chase in thered herring robot game. This is basically the reason I was sure virtually all if not all characters would be consistent to their roles if they had them, I appear to have been correct about that, yes?
Docs can not protect themselves, or to be more accurate, when they can the role is incorrect and overpowered. A doc who can protect himself is an over-powered modification of the role:
A very powerful ally to the Town. Each night, the Doctor contacts the Game Moderator, choosing one player to protect during the night from a night kill. When used in combination with a Cop, the Town has a sharply increased chance at catching Scum.
Generally, the Doctor can not heal/protect himself. Also, if the player is targeted by more than one Mafia family (or a family and Serial Killer), that player still usually dies.
Now, do I believe NApoleon's claim? Mostly yes, he'd already claimed female and as you know I did extensive character research on you for that reason, Lucy showed up, as did Susan and Jadis, the White Witch. I discount WoT, too many fmailiar characters with this group to bother, mario land has princess toadstool, winnie the pooh has only the mother kangaroo, and portal is a video game featuring only three things, the player, an evil AI, and a total absence of cake. So I already knew Napoleon, if not WoT, was either Lucy, Susan, Jandis, Princess Toadstool, or a kangaroo if he was not WoT and truthful. By the way, since you brought up analysis by setting to hunt for the attacker, none of them feature a major antagonist who could thus be described, many often have evil beastdudes and werewolves as secondary bad guys.
It doesn't actually matter if NApoleon is telling the truth, because if he got culted, his self-doccing wouldn't stop that, and he would have been a townie - cultists die if they try to recruit scum.
Explain the anomaly - first, the doc docced themself? Now, some mods do allow this and ranagrande might be one, but I can confirm he knows of the reason this is typically not allowed and it's effect as an over-power role. It may be in play, but if it is, I would guess he allowed it because he forgot to say no in role assignment, or felt the town needed buffing out.
Second anomaly - the claim itself, there's a difference between when someone is forced to RC and when someone wants to RC, people with fake claims are often anxious to drop them, proud of their fictional claim and what it will buy them in terms of prob-town. Napoleon claimed too quickly, he was not pressured to claim, in fact pretty much everyone who asked him questions was treading carefully around revealing the doc and FT even posted a warning on this. Ask FT, that post was specifically warning me about something, I doubt either of us will be willing to give details, but I'm sure he'll confirm he was telling me something and I got it, and proceeded to leave Napoleon alone. Until he RC'd - as beet pointed out, that was an amazingly reckless thing to do, so I choose to assume ulterior motive. A very strong candidate for that is that he was Lucy and a doc, but got turned to the darkside - remember, we have no dead bodies, there's usually being a less than wonderful reason why this has happened in the past.
Now, who attacked him?
I remove the dead/inactive, myself and FT, I believe FT was probably RB'd. We don't have settings for FT anyway. We will also assume, for the moment, that even the bad guys told the truth about their settings.
Artsapat
Beetnemesis
BlackAdder
Darth Katie
Fox
Kylia
White Flame
Yunalesca
Artsapat is off, of his various settings none feature prominent beastmen. Beet is off, the few that appear in his mascots - Tony the Tiger - are not malevolent.
BlackAdder is on, some of his settings revolve strongly around animals with human intellect/behavior. One of his is Narnia as well - and Black Adder posted his first - keep that in mind, BA was the first to post settings and listed Narnia. BA strongly on.
Darth Katie - Only Looney Tunes, where really most of the 'beastmen' are not particular evil, Taz maybe - DK On
Fox - Only Sonic the hedgehog, but there, all the bad guys are robots and the good guys are animals.
Kylia - DC is too big for analysis, but not too many of the prominent bad guys are beastmen-baddies, she also picked Buffy, which can contain some, one of the captain planet villains is a rat-dude, but not large. So slim on.
White Flame - Not a single one of his settings includes anything non-human
Yunalesca - Like Kylia, she picked DC and Buffy, slim on
So if NApoleon was attacked by a large beast, and the bad guys listed their real settings, the culprit was almost certainly BlackAdder, DK, Kylia, and Yunalesca.
