1) A Doctor's ability to heal themself, while generally not allowed, is, at least in my opinion, somewhat dependent on the flavor. If it is the more literal approach, where the Doc heals after finding the person injured, then yes, the Doc should not be able to self-heal (Bergoiyn tried this in my space game, after which I told him he was not able to resurrect himself). But, if it is someone who gives a potion to, or casts a spell on, or protects the target from attacks, then it is possible that the Doc could protect him/herself.

2) Once again, entirely possible that one of the others made up the Narnia setting, then Napoleon had to claim it because it actually was his setting. It is a rather well-known fantasy series.
