I don't think we're likely to be getting any new information today, so I'm going to pick up where I left off yesterday. I mentioned near the end of Day 1 that Kronin was my top suspect. Now that ? has taken over Kronin's character, I suspect him even more.

The increase in suspicion is primarily because Kronin requested a replacement. I don't believe that he would have done that if he had been a vanilla townie, nor would he have made sure that he checked in and posted just enough to ward off modkills. His actions make sense if he viewed himself as an important, even integral part of his team and didn't want to hurt them through inaction. This is supported by the fact that Kronin was indeed replaced, despite Fanatic-Templar's previously stated preference for modkills over replacements.

This lets us know that Kronin had, and ? now has, a significant role. If that was all I knew, I wouldn't be posting this now, because I wouldn't want to take the risk that Kronin/? was actually a townie with a power role, like the cop or doctor. However, I have further reason to believe that he is, in fact, scum.

My first evidence is simply that I think it. That will obviously not persuade many of you, but I have learned to trust my intuition. I did, after all, call out beetnemesis on Day 1 in the last game, and I could probably find similar examples in every game I've been a townie in.

My second evidence is found in Kronin's response to my vote for him. He replied with "Please don't." A simple, plaintive request that we not lynch him. This is the same kind of reaction he had when we began targeting him in Isaac's Mad Muad game. As you will recall, he was a darkfriend in that game.

Admittedly, the case looks a bit flimsy, but I don't doubt that it's the best we're going to get today.

I'm certainly not trying to rush anyone, or blitz through Day 2. If anyone has anything useful to discuss, by all means, let's do. And then, when we're all done, we can lynch ?, because he is almost certainly scum.


Not saying he can't be scum, but its a little better to hand off your character if you can't continue to play to give someone else another chance at the game, rather than just get modkilled and make the game unnecessarily shorter.

Would ? have been given Kronin's decode thingy for his coded roleclaim? We could have him decode it to see if it would match up to his role, maybe it would show if Kronin lied or not, then we could go from there. (I'm assuming of course that if you enter the wrong key it wont make sense upon decoding. If it doesn't work that way let me know.)
