[...] The things grows ever larger as it approaches. Fanatic-Templar Send a noteboard - 20/01/2012 08:29:28 AM
The Servicemen have now noticed it as well, and all around the site work has stopped as men and kobolds look up in wonder. Eventually, you recognise what this must be: back when you did your own Service, before you were recognised as an engineer yourself, you were called up north to the capital to participate in the construction of a new administrative complex. And floating above great Amantyne was the Sacred City, the forbidden home of the Illuminated Emperor and his family, his mages, his most esteemed subordinates and his servants.

This flying fortress was not the same, but it could only be one of the other two such structures maintained by the Illuminated, presumably the Cloudbreaker usually stationed over passes leading to the northern taigas. Where the City had been a graceful spider web of towers connected by delicate bridges and arches, both topside and underside, this one was a far more foreboding silhouette, an inverted pyramid of overlapping bastions that give it the impression of being covered in immense scales. The flat top of the pyramid is surrounded by a parapet, with a single tower watching over the entire structure.

The sight of it chills your spine. The flying fortresses have never been used in war in your lifetime, nor that of your parents or grandparents. You have no idea what kind of enemy could cause the Illuminated to bring their greatest weapons forth once more.
The first rule of being a ninja is "do no harm". Unless you intend to do harm, then do lots of harm.
