Sammil hurries over towards the kitchen, but the gleeman is intercepted by Master Jaemin. The innkeeper wrings his hands and begs of your to pay no mind to the trouble. "The girl will not bother you, I'm sure Anica will deal with her appropriately and there will be no further trouble from her. No need to even call in the Children, yes? Please, just go on with your performance. Everyone is waiting to hear the end of your tale..."

As the innkeeper continues his pleading, the women hurl Xanthe into the kitchen, and bend her over the cook's knee. One of the maids brings the woman a supple willow branch - why she kept such a thing in the kitchens of the inn is a mystery the Darkfriend does not have the time or inclination to wonder about - and starts switching her.

In the common room, the incident is quickly forgotten as the laughing patrons partake in Maravin's generous offer. Unfortunately, his words are misinterpreted as extended to everybody present rather than simply the soldiers, and soon the jug is empty, with nearly everyone drinking the tainted wine. Tian is offered a goblet by his soldiers when he descends into the common room, but do not press him, seeing him otherwise preoccupied.

Maravin succeeds at a Diplomacy Skill check (18+1=19)
