With that, he knelt and performed the last rites for the sister. Straightening, he nodded to his new ally.

Alessandro remembered the path back to the front door, and left on his own, acknowledging servants as he passed them. His Sire had taught him that a poorly treated servant was a future betrayer. The same man who had ushered him into the home let him back out into the cool night air.

He now knew that there was at least one Cortez involved in the King's abduction, but it would be best to make sure of his position before confronting the Duke or his lackeys. Alessandro would need to find at least one more ally before that confrontation.
