Alessandro sat in a comfortable chair, and smiled. Her servant obviously felt comfortable enough to speak freely, and she was loose enough with him that he was allowed to do so in front of a guest.

"Thank you for your welcome, Maite. Yes, I am Padre Alessandro, of the Vatican. I report to Cardinal Montfort, who serves the Holy Father as the Church's eyes and hands in the dark, as well as serving as the Duke of the Night in the Church." He paused, thinking to himself about the irony that had the same vampire administrating the creatures of the dark within the church and reporting on their activities to the Pope. "He has sent me to investigate the abduction of Rey Jacob bar Josef de Vargas."

He sat, silently, for a few moments, to allow that information to sink into Maite's mind. Of course, reading her mind would be obvious, and would likely end with his torso punctured several times and his head many feet from his shoulders.

"Being one of the elders in the city, have you heard anything relating to his abduction? I recently read the mind of a woman who witnessed a Cortez thrall discussing the abduction with a woman. Do you have any thoughts as to who that is likely to be?"
