"I agree, Maite, that publicly standing together would only send the betrayer fleeing for their lair, but if it were known that you and I did not necessarily see eye to eye on key issues, it might embolden the rats."

Pausing, Alessandro began to think of his next steps. "I must be going, Maite. The sunrise comes soon, and I would not wish to impose on your hospitality. Especially if the rats are to believe that we are at odds."
