I can easily see how he'd make a mistake like that. He doesn't realize what time period we're in, he reads about the Aiel invasion and thinks Shaido, and when paraphrasing his message (which could say something like "to help fight the Aiel, you enlist with the Children of Light") he changed that to "to defend your country, you join the Whitecloaks".
Going back to see what he wrote, you're right. I'm still keeping my finger on the trigger, so to speak, but I see what he's saying now.
Sorry for any confusion,haven't been able to post much lately. Seems Gher was able to clear it up surprisingly accurately.
