I get the theory of why they changed it, even though I disagree and don't like it. What I'm unsure about, not being ultra geeky, is the storm troopers - are they clones as well and if so what is with the accents for them having changed?

The troopers still were clones for many years. But then the imperial academy was founded, for real recruits and humans interested in a career as soldiers.
