In Region II DVDs, we sometimes get an incredible wealth of subtitles to choose from (I've seen DVDs with iirc subtitles in all of the following languages: English, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Russian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Croatic, Polish, Hebrew, Arabic, Turkish and then I might be forgetting a few), but you can only put two or three dubbed versions on a DVD, so that's usually French and/or German besides English. With some effort I suspect you'd find dubs in Italian or Spanish too, but when you want to practice your Finnish or Arabic, like me, good luck finding movies dubbed in those languages in Belgium or the surrounding countries. For that matter, I suspect dubs in Finnish don't exist at all for everything that isn't animated or a children's movie, just like with Dutch and other small European languages. It's subtitles or nothing.

And in any case, as others have said, for live-action movies or TV I want to hear the original voices. For animated movies, okay, dubbing is not so bad (in some cases, Finding Nemo comes to mind, one might even say the original version and the dubbed version are two different movies, what with the number of jokes and references that have been changed - I still need to see the original version of Finding Nemo).
