It seems very promising. I'm happy with the pace and with the level of faithfulness to the books. There were always going to be changes, but nothing too egregious so far.
Like most HBO shows, it is a visual delight. This is the kind of thing I would watch many times because it's just so pretty.
I loved the scenes with the Targaryens, but am very sad that they ended Dany's wedding night when they did. (Don't give me that look! That experience is an essential part of her development. It's her first taste of being honored and respected, a private glimpse of what it might feel like to be a beloved queen.)
I'm looking forward to the next episode already.

Yes, the books are much more descriptive of her awakening into womanhood and the way in which she and Drago bond and become one. In the show it just looks like he puts her on her knees and takes her whereas the books describe it much differently. We'll see how it turns out, hopefully there is more given to her development and doesn't move too fast.
