...I am not sure how it worked for people who never read the books. My gf didn't and she was quite confused who the Stark kids were in the beginning and had a few questions from time to time. Beyond that they handled the family relations and connections between the characters and the switching between the locations rather well, I found.


...was in this very position. He had some confusion trying to follow the names and connections, but overall it's nothing which discouraged him. In fact he looks forward to more episodes to get additional information and understanding. Bottom line was he enjoyed it very much and can't wait for more. He was a bit turned off by the ending however, only from the perspective of children being killed. I gave a littler spoiler by informing him that Bran in fact does not die, which he was happy to learn. He also commented about how he loves to follow strong characters and become invested in them....at which point I gave him a bit of a warning about how GRRM writes :P Hopefully some of the deaths won't be too jarring to him. lol

And the title sequence is awesome. I am excited about the next episodes.


Title sequence was kick-ass, and apparently will slightly change with each episode depending on where the action is that night.
I would slave, to pave the way, to sink your ship of fools.
