.....and that Littlefinger betrays Ned. I thought that scene cuts both ways, that he's willing to cut a deal with anyone, including Ned.
It just felt like it was bludgeoning the point to me - I don't see that it added anything to what they'd already established about him except that he wasn't loyal to Ned because of his affection for Ned's wife so it just reduced the shock value of the ending for no gain.
I just like a bit more subtle story telling, with hints dropped and not hammered home.
