Who was the guy that grabbed Arya at Ned's execution? And what did Ned say to him when he passed him?
Another change from the books, IIRC. It was Yoren from the Nights Watch. In the books, Ned never sees/talks to Yoren as they showed on TV. And to be honest I'm not sure why they felt the need to make that change. They had already etasblished earlier (when Yoren informed Ned of Cat taking Tyrion) that Yoren is friendly with Ned (via Benjen) and is aware of Arya, so no need to further establish a reason for Yoren to grab Arya.
In the book you only see the execution through the eyes of Arya and then all of a sudden Yoren is there. It is not explained why he suddenly shows up, nor is it clear if Ned knows Arya is there.
In the series he shouts "Baelor" to Yoren twice, making Yoren look to the statue of Baelor the Blessed where Arya sits. This is a good twist, not so much for the Ayra/Yoren connection, but much making it an even more emotional moment for Ned when in his last moments he tries to help Arya.
Game of thrones Season 1, episode 9 -DO NOT READ BEFORE SEEING "Baelor"!
