but I watched both back to back, and want to post a comparative review.


I've skimmed through the rest of your post, but want to say there's a shit ton of stuff in the HG book(s) that just doesn't come across in the movie. Having read both the Hunger Games and Battle Royale, my opinion is that the similarities are superficial at best.

I thought the movie was alright. I thought the books were excellent.
It's all my fault...
