The giants fighting was silly, the Goblin king was too overblown, Azog wasn't scary in the slightest (Gothmog was so much better) and the chase scenes dragged on to the point of tedium.

And the bunny-rabbit sleigh? Give me a ****ing break...


Saying that, Riddles in the Dark is one of the great pieces of cinema and the film as a whole was great. More selective editing and allowing WETA to do their thing with prosthetics more often would have made it a 10/10 as I loved all the lore stuff (even if it was fiddled with) but as it is it's a 7.5/10.
