It's sort of the tv version of a movie sequel. It's less risky to build on a successful franchise than it is to create from scratch. Sequels and reboots don't happen because we need them for whatever reason, they happen because they're profitable. ;)


But it's more than that, take the office, how many americans would get the whole "Slough" thing? Not many I imagine and I wouldn't expect them too. So you remake it.
