Whatever they do they better not cut two of my favorite scenes Roland00 Send a noteboard - 29/06/2013 11:53:25 PM

They can be short scenes, but I felt they are needed in the books and the show.

Scene 1-Areo Hotah tells the story of Prince Doran, lord paramount of the Martells, Prince Doran seems an arthritic old man who is the complete opposite of his brother the Red Viper. A man who will bed the lion who murdered his sister, a man who would do anything for peace. All the while everyone else in the country is driving the country to war.

During this chapter we see red blood oranges everywhere, and they are wet and gushing, the fruit are over ripe and are about to explode for they have been waiting so long.

(Just like Doran' revenge plot is now ready to be eaten.)

Scene 2-Arianne is imprisoned and is being driven mad, then her father appears and he has a little chat with her. Arianne taunts her father and slowly it dawns on the reader what the Martell Prince really has in store. We get wonderful quotes such as

"You mistake patience for forbearance. I have worked at the downfall of Tywin Lannister since the day they told me of Elia and her children."

"We princes make our careful plans and the gods smash them all awry."

And finally her father telling her where her brother really is, her brother is on a quest to bring them their heart desire. "Vengeance... Justice... Fire and blood.
