Yes, obviously, people who agree with Legolas aren't going to be irked by his intro.
My point was that those who are annoyed by it will be less likely to pay attention once he pissed them off. So if he wants people to focus on the review, why not forgo opening it with a snarky comment?
Now, hypothetically, he could be just fine with people who didn't like the comment not reading the article, in which case, there's no problem. I might be a little miffed, but would accept it as his choice. But it seems like that wasn't the case here.
