This is how I watch most shows and pick up the ones that I miss during the week. The commercial breaks are similar to those on Hulu, but without the occasional choice to do one long commercial and uninterrupt the stream.
I think that if Hulu were to charge, more people would just switch to going to the network sites for their favorite (current)shows. Older shows might be something different, but then they would need more than a couple of episodes (I think Angel only has 5) and seasons (only 1 of Buffy and 2 of Babylon 5).
