Re:Avatar is basically Return of the Jedi, at least the part on Endor. But less militarily plausible

Every likes to sneer at the notion of the Ewoks defeating the Empire's crack troops. I never had a problem with this, just assuming that since it was a CHILDREN'S MOVIE, they couldn't show the D-day-like casualties the Ewoks took. I basically figured they took something like 70% kills, and were not broken up about it because they are a vicious, psychotic race (severed head for musical instruments, and cannibalism, anyone? ). But all the Ewoks were trying to do was destroy a single facility, not contest Imperial control over the planet. In Avatar, the Ewoks are trying to hold their planet against the stormtroopers, and DO, with even less support from civilized people. Give me a break.
To be fair, in Avatar, the Na Va were easily driven from their village, and in the final big battle they were simply trying to defend the 'Tree Of Souls', for which they took heavily causalties and only won because the planet itself turned all the wild animals on the enemy.
But yes, the scenes with the dragons fighting the gun-ships were fairly ridiculous, especially the use of bow and arrows to penetrate gun-ship windows.

Predictable with a tired & preachy plot. (spoilers) Also, the ending was completely ludicrous.
