Other than sparing Deckard at the end of the film he didn't really do anything else that would be called noble or good.

Absolutely. Still, it was saddened me that Roy would find it necessary to kill J.F. He had no real reason to. J.F. was nothing but nice to Roy and Pris and as a fellow outsider I expected them to relate to him enough to leave him alone after they got Tyrell. I always felt it stained Roy's character a bit that he killed J.F.


I suppose if you wanted to offer a defence he had gone to Tyrell looking for forgiveness or at very least judgement (along with an extended lifespan), but Tryell just praised him and his past actions, effectively endorsing them. Tyrell basically told Roy to be a killer and that is what he did.
