There is no way we could have come up with this at book 5 IMHO. I believe we have the correct theory out there already as to who killed Asmo. The only problem is the other incorrect theories cannot be disproven and so we dont have an answer as to who it really was. The only way we CAN know for sure is either for RJ to confirm it for us like he did that clever fan he met or have it spelled out in the series some time.
I think, no matter which theory ends up being correct, we'll have lots of "I told you so"s and "It would have been better if"s floating around.
