I think the original posters' question has more to do with whether or not the Lews Therin alter ego ever indicated it knew what happened to Asmodean or not, which is a bit different and more interesting - the question is implying that the Lews Therin personality took control of Rand and then destroyed Asmodean with the whole incident being blocked out of Rands' memory because the alternate personality had taken over.
