Here's a bit about Latra Posae Decume's nickname;
Note the slicer/ cutter part of her nickname here is Nor.
When I first read that, I linked it to Aginor, who was known for meddling with the basic structures of living things. I always envissioned he used the One Power and the so called True Power to cut/ slice those basic structures and re-attach them in different ways to create new forms of 'life'.
When looking at old Greek, "Agi" means something along the lines of 'goodness' or 'purity', which would fit well with the comparison to life/ threads if you ask me. Then again, when looking at old Norse "agi" stands for 'scaring someone' or something like that, so go figure...
I like to think Aginor means "Life-slicer" or "Thread-cutter", because I feel it fits well with his role during the collapse/ War of Shadow.
My 2 strands worth..
Cheers,
Mik
Edit: changed subject name.
Shadar Nor, best translated as "Cutter of the Shadow" or perhaps "Slicer of the Shadow" (the difficulties of precise translation from the Old Tongue, with all its multiple meanings, will always remain with us)
