Re: I don't think so. But neither do I think Moridin is the true Nae'blis

I think the Forsaken males entertained Shaitan, but the Forsaken that stood highest in it's estimation were Lanfear, Graendal and Semirhage. At the end of the day, I don't think the Dark One really cares about any of them, but Moridin is more useful as a tool than Demandred ever could be - strength in the Power and skills in military tactics, strategy and survival are not that useful after Tarmon Gaidon or during phases of the lead-in to that Battle.
What does this mean exactly? Why would the care about Lanfear most? This is the forsaken that actively worked against him, was reborn with a name "last chance", and is a mindtrapped slave of Moridins. A mindtrap that the DO himself has to create.
As for Semirhage, she got captured and Moridin who is mindlessly loyal to the DO refused to help rescue her. If the DO cared about her at all, he would certainly have ordered Moridin to get her out. Instead it seems that the DO could care less and was quite happy in letting her suffer and be broken. Heck, at the end she got killed with the DO's own power. Though this may not count if Rand managed to get TP without permission via Moridin.
I don't think the DO really cares about any of the forsaken on a personal level. They are just tools. But if he does care at all about anyone, then its about Moridin who shares his views and is personally loyal rather than just in it for the rewards.
I don't think the Dark One thought Semirhage would be balefired by Rand; it's thought process can't comprehend how someone would use the True Power and then refuse to be tempted by it. It took a risk with her and probably regrets that things played out the way they did for little gain.
Umm what?
Ofcourse the very first thing Rand would do would be to annihilate Semirhage. That is completely obvious. Semirhage had just brutally tortured Rand and was in the process of forcing Rand to kill Min when Rand managed to access the TP. Do you expect me to believe that the DO thought that after breaking free of the male a'dam, Rand would use the TP to create a flower for Semirhage as a present?
And for little gain? The DO managed to corrupt Rand to the point where Rand nearly did the DO's job for him by using the Choedan Kal to destroy creation. And even though that failed, we know from BS that there will likely be even more consequences for Rand's TP use. I think the DO considers the life of Semirhage a very small price and would pay it again without hesitation.
Could Moridin be a false Nae'blis whom the DO wants to replace with Demandred?

Exactly. The Dark One just needs to get free. Then he can break the Pattern at his leisure...

Sure. That's for RAND to win. For the Dark One to win, it is as simple as just killing Rand...

Because Rand is the only one who can stop him from breaking free.

Moridin is to blame because he is a symbol of RJ's choice to make this a metaphysical war...

Nah, we already got that twist....it was cool when Verin did it, but RJ wouldn't overuse the idea *NM*
