In my first read through, I thought the opposite of this (hated Faile, tolerated Tuon, liked Elayne). Now it's shifted to hating Elayne (who never, ever stops whining and never acts rationally) to kind-of liking Faile, who has actually been good for Perrin overall, and actually liking Tuon (as a character) alot.

Tuon is one of the most interesting female characters. It's not necessarily that I like her cold-bloodedness, but I do think she is a very interesting character and her interactions with Mat are quite representative of the Seanchan invasion. At first, Randland repels the attacks, but the Seanchan quickly gain an unmovable foothold. And just as Randland is learning to deal with the Seanchan, so too are the Seanchan slowly assimilating to the ways of Randland (see Eagnin). When Mat and Tuon next reunite, that's when there will be peace between the Empire and the Dragon.
