We should compile a list of things we know about the Oath Rod. One thing is that it significantly shortens the lifespan of the swearer. But what if the swearer is immortal? 50% of infinity is still infinity.
It seems the common school of thought is that the shortened lifespan is due to the Oaths, but maybe the Oaths only take hold by "consuming" part of the swearers life. Mesaana's "life" is pretty weird, what with being immortal now and existing outside of time while the bore was sealed. So maybe she's immune in a way.
This doesn't entirely satisfy me, since it's not really a "method" of defeating the Rod.

Is the DO's promise of immortality a straight-up lie? Does it refer to transmigration, so they still age and die, and then are moved into a new body? Or are they truly immortal, immune to aging?
But you're right, it doesn't really defeat the Oath Rod.

That isn't tricking the oath rod, the way I'm understanding his answer. That's tricking humans *NM*

Perhaps she pressed, and held the on/off switch, so that the Oaths never triggered? *NM*

Or she didn't swear on it, because she's a servant.

I doubt Mesaana stands high enough to have TP access right now. She's probably the lowest FS. *NM*
