Supposing it works, there are 1,260,000,000,000,000,000,000 liters of waters on our planet (1.26 X 10^21 liters). If you lose 10 liters per second with these Gateways, it would take 399,260,000,000 years (4 X 10^11 years)! to lose it all to space.

Where does 10 liters per second come from? If you open a gateway of 2 by 2 meters, the water would have to escape at a speed of 2.5 millimeters per second to make it 10 liters per second, and that hardly seems likely. I can't be bothered to actually calculate the speed, but I'd guess it would be at least several tens of meters per second, making it something like 100.000 liters per gateway per second. Of course, even if my numbers are correct, it would still take a good while to drain the oceans.

Also, refering to the earlier questions about the orbits of the Earth and the Moon, the Earth would stay in orbit around the Sun, as that orbit is independent of the mass of the Earth, while the Moon's orbit would increase in radius.
