Fairly sure Dom knows all of that, considering how much he evidently knows about the Arthurian legends and how he analyzed them in that post. When he says there's not much Arthurian about the sealing of the Bore and blowing of the Horn, what he means is, well, what he says really: that there are no obvious parallels to those events in Arthurian legend. I'm not sure how you interpreted that as him saying there weren't any other references to Arthurian names or concepts in the series.

Yeah, I know. I pointed those other things out under the dashed line because I figured they weren't exactly on topic.

What IS on topic for my post is the relationship between Mordred/Mordeth and Rand, and also Slayer and Rand. Arthur was killed by Mordred, his own blood, and I think it's fair to say that Fain and/or Slayer will have a hand in Rand's death at the LB.

What I suggested is that RJ will "close" his major reference to the Arthurian story with a major battle at Caemlyn, and that it won't be the finale of the LB. The story of the LB has nothing to do with the Arthurian _storyline_. I never implied no Arthurian influences would be woven into it.

But I think some of the core things will be, specifically Slayer and Mordeth's ties to Mordred (and possibly also Gawyn/Gawain's ties to him). Merlin's (Moiraine's) role might come into play too.

And oh.... the three in a boat scene being from the movie Excalibur... LOL! That's one of the things for which that movie (good if dated, but not very faithful) got from tradition without twisting it too much.

Fair enough - like I said, I had little prior knowledge of the mythology before I wiki'ed it. I was careful to at least reference where I was taking the events from rather than just stating they were all from literature. :)
