The population in general has been taught for years (for some reason I still do not understand) that instead of looking at the Dragon Reborn for hope they should instead fear him.
Because he was called Kinslayer for a reason. The Dragon Reborn. He's supposed to be the same guy who went mad and killed his entire family. He's also prophecied to break the world. No amount of PR would make people unlearn that.
He is the guy that saved the world the last time around, and he is the only guy that can save the world this time around. If people believed in the Dragon Reborn, then they believed that.
If the people truly believe he is the only one who can save the world, it makes the most sense for them to get behind him and get behind him quickly. So I never really agreed with the logic that he would be hated.
All good things come to those who wait.
