... I just don't think Rand will live on as a recluse, hiding his face from public so that he's not recognized. That would be a crummy way to live, especially if he'll live on for several hundred years due to being a channeler.
I agree, he could avoid ever being seen as Elayne's husband if they so desire it. I was just using that as an example of why he needs to look different. Even if he settles down on a remote farm somewhere, someone would eventually recognize him and the secret would get out. I don't think that will ever happen, so ... he needs to look different. I don't know if you addressed that in your theory or not, but I'll have a look - I am interested in reading it.
Of course, this is all based on my gut feeling that only a select few will know that Rand survived. Which could easily be wrong. But judging from the various viewings, prophecies, 4th age quotes, etc., it just doesn't seem as if the Dragon Reborn is going to survive the LB. Only Rand will, enabling him to live out a "normal" life (after being used by the Wheel so, he deserves that!) - something he'd be unable to do if the Dragon Reborn survives.

There's also the "ripped from TAR after death" theory, ala Birgitte (re how Rand lives again).

I don't think it is necessary that Rand be a public figure as Elayne's husband.
