On that particular point... Terez Send a noteboard - 12/10/2010 06:05:59 PM
I think it most likely he will live as a recluse for less than a century in the Two Rivers, until Tam and Min die. Min is the only one of this three women who will have a normal lifespan. After that, I think it most likely he will go to live in the Waste with Aviendha. There will be some Wise Ones there who know his secret, but being Aiel, they will be more likely to keep the secret of his identity, and he would not have to live as a recluse there at all. But while he lives with Min in the Two Rivers, he could easily hide in the Westwood - he might even be able to use wards to prevent unwanted visitors - and he could visit all of his friends via gateway. This fits with the versions of the Arthurian legends where Arthur is sometimes seen in the forest after his death (I cannot find a reference for it at the moment but I know I have read that before).

After that century or so, the only people alive who will recognize him are channelers and Ogier, and as I said, I think the Waste will probably be the best option for him to avoid the channelers who are not in the know. He could easily visit Elayne and his children via gateway at any time.

I have been thinking that the reason Min gets to spend so much time with him as compared to Elayne and Aviendha is that Min's lifespan will be normal. When Min dies, the others will all still be in the prime of their youth. It will be hard on Min, growing old while Rand stays young, but I bet Rand will love her anyway.

I just don't see that as Nynaeve's "area of expertise" - 13/10/2010 10:09:39 PM 768 Views
