A Long list of questions..... Asha'manoftheLight Send a noteboard - 28/10/2010 06:25:50 PM
Mostly about the One Power:

Talents, Strengths, and Weaves

Does RJ in his notes have many more Talents described then are represented in the books? Could you share one or two with us?

(This one again…. ) Is it possible to learn weaves from written texts?

Is there a Talent for Balefire? Or is it a weave that is outside the realm of Talents (assuming such a thing exists)?

In the Tor Q&A, it was mentioned high levels of ability in Healing were much more rare than high levels in most other Talents during the Age of Legends. Does the same still hold true? What are some of the most common Talents to have high levels of ability in? What are the rarest?

Nynaeve once mentions Moghedien saying that males are better at Healing certain types of illness than their female counterparts. What illness or types of illnesses are males better at Healing? (assuming Moghedien wasn't lying)

Are there more weaves (one example the Bridge weave) that one gender of channelers can just naturally perform with more ability/skill?

Is Egwene one of the rare individuals strong in all Five Powers? Is Rand also strong in all Five Powers?

Could Morgase, with her tiny ability in the One Power, link?

Are the main character channelers at their full potential by ToM?

Power Strength Questions

Does the BBOBA/the Guide list the Forsaken in their order of Strength in the Power?

(I would like to finally get an answer to this one) So thirteen weak woman linked can automatically shield any man (without a sa’angreal)? Could thirteen weak Aes Sedai shield Rand using Callandor?

[Regarding this previous question, I basically want the to get the answer to this question:

Leth Filorn on Twitter - 13 August 7:01 pm
Could thirteen Aes Sedai linked shield Rand while he was channeling using Callandor. What about with Choedan Kal at full power?
Brandon - 8:07 pm
I think I'm going to MAFO those. (Which means email me, say I said I'd ask Maria, and we'll add them to her list.)
8:08 pm
I'm pretty sure of the answer, but I don't want to take the time to sort though the notes and look it up for certain while editing.]

If Power Strength is a bell curve with strength for Aes Sedai testing at 62.5% of the bell curve, where approx. would Egwene and Moiraine be? Lanfear? How about Aginor if the Bell curve was expanded to include men?

How does [……] in Strength in the Power?

- Graendal compare with Semirhage?

- Asmodean compare with Lanfear?

- Egwene compare with Moghedien? (much stronger? Slight stronger? Etc.)

- Flinn compare with Egwene?

- Moghedien compare with Mesaana?

- Sharina compare with Lanfear/Cyndane and Graendal?

I don’t know if they will tell us any of these things, especially those concerning strength in the Power, (they will probably mention the upcoming Encyclopedia) but I wanted some Power-centric/Strength freak questions to possibly be represented (if anyone has anymore please include them).

One Last Question – What is the Old Tongue work for “Light”? As in “the Light”?
